Celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II

FPC have already planted 3 oak trees in Fillongley Recreation Ground as part of The Queens Green Canopy.  These trees were grown in the Parish and donated by Mrs Stella Antrobus.  Thanks also to Mr William Antrobus and Mr Kevin Kerby, who, with the help of some heavy farm machinery transplanted the trees to the Recreation Ground.  These will be dedicated in a ceremony to be announced…..

The Council also plan to gift commemorative mugs to all children living in the Parish of Fillongley who were born after 31st August 2010 and children at Bournebrook School.  To claim your mug, please just contact the Clerk with your child(ren)s name(s), address and date(s) of birth.  Clerk@fillongleyparishcouncil.co.uk  01676 549193.  If you don’t qualify for a gift but would like to purchase a mug at a cost of £6, again, please contact the Clerk.


On Thursday June 2nd 2022, 70 years on from the Coronation, the Parish Council are participating in the chain of Beacons across the land.  There will be a fabulous community celebration with a bonfire, beacon and brilliant fireworks display.  This will be held at the highest point in the Parish, in a field off Hardingwood Lane, Fillongley, CV7 8EL.  There will be parking, bar, barbeque and toilets on site.  Gates open at 6.30pm.  Beacon will be lit at 9.45pm and fireworks will complete the evening straight afterwards.    Thanks to all those who are working together to make this a fabulous evening; Mr and Mrs Antrobus, (site), Millie Eaton (poster), Isabella Priest (ticket), Paul Telfer (graphic design), Fillongley Scouts (BBQ), Fillongley Cricket Club (bar), Fillongley Parish Councillors as well as numerous other supporters and helpers.

Tickets are £5 per adult, £2.50 for children.  Under 5’s are free.  It is a non-profit making event –proceeds pay for the fireworks.
